I LOVE Dr Seuss books. And so does my Mum.
I LOVE Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando. And so does my Mum-In-Law.
So when I found a UK stockist of the range of Dr Seuss patchwork fabrics, I just had to buy some.
I sent a selection of fat quarters to my Mum for her birthday – here’s a picture of her goodies:
Then it got close to Xmas, and I got a little more adventurous and bought some more Dr Seuss fabric to make a pinny for my Mum-In-Law!
I took a few in-progress photos:

Laying out the pieces for the pinny – I can see how it’s going to look and am mega excited! It doesn’t take much I’m afraid!
In the picture above you can see on the right hand side some yellow and brown paisley fabrics. That was the pinny I used as a template. My husband’s Gran made it many years ago and never used it. I saw it, loved it, and she gave it to me – I use it ALL the time! 😀
I was going to take a picture of my Mum-In-Law with it on, but forgot. Oh dear, how sad, too bad, never mind!
It really was the highlight of my Xmas, giving someone a present that I’d made, that I loved and that I knew they would love too. I even made up a little Dr Seuss-type rhyme to go inside the card!
But it doesn’t end there. My Mum-In-Law makes these lovely needle covers and I decided I really needed one. So I asked (very politely!) if she could make me one, and this is what I got on my birthday!
And opened out it looks like this on the inside:
And like this on the outside:
How cool is that?!? 😀
